Rotwasps are insectoid cykrons originally found on Lanka, although they can now be found throughout the Daemoniverse.
Daemons pack them into grenade-like devices that can be thrown at enemies, releasing swarms of rotwasps when they land.
Physiology
Rotwasps are small, winged creatures with scorpion-like tails. Their exoskeleton is mainly composed of blackmetal, making them very tough to kill. The feather-like structures on their wings are razor-sharp, able to cut through flesh with ease. Their stingers are filled with aggressive flesh-eating bacteria; when introduced into the bloodstream of most organisms, they literally eat it from the inside out. This process resembles decomposition, hence the rotwasps' name. They are carnivorous, and whole swarms can devour prey within a matter of minutes.
Behavior
Rotwasps are typically found in large swarms of hundreds of individuals. In the wild, they build their nests in the branches of raskovniks. This symbiotic relationship gives the raskovnik better protection, and provides the rotwasps with mobile housing. If there are no raskovniks present, they will build their nests in ordinary plants. They are highly aggressive, and will eat most creatures upon detection.
